Sangath India

Sangath is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving mental health across the lifespan by empowering community resources to deliver appropriate physical, psychological, and social care. Established in 1996, Sangath was founded by seven members who initiated Goa’s first multidisciplinary child development clinic in Porvorim, North Goa. What began as a child development initiative has since grown into one of India’s leading mental health research organizations.

Sangath focuses on key areas including child development, adolescent and youth mental health, addiction, and health equity. It plays a significant role in advancing global mental health through ethical research and by designing, evaluating, and scaling cost-effective, community-based, evidence-driven solutions—particularly for low-resource settings in India and beyond. With its headquarters in Goa and hub offices in Delhi and Bhopal, Sangath continues to expand its impact by bridging research, practice, and community care.
