Key Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
2. Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients on admission and during their ICU stay.
3. Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to emergencies.
4. Perform ICU procedures such as central venous line insertion, arterial line insertion, intubation, and ventilator management (as per competency).
5. Manage patients on mechanical ventilation and other life-support systems.
6. Coordinate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
7. Maintain accurate and timely medical records and treatment notes.
8. Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding the patient's condition and treatment plan.
9. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, infection control practices, and NABH standards.
10. Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and emergency response (Code Blue).
11. Supervise junior medical staff and assist in training when required.
12. Participate in departmental audits, CMEs, and quality improvement initiatives.
13. Perform rotational shifts, including night duties, weekends, and holidays, as per the duty roster.

Qualifications

1. MBBS with DM/DNB ( Critical Care) or MBBS with Fellowship/ IDCCM in Critical Care
2. Valid State Medical Council registration.
