Dr DY Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, was established in 1996. It was Dr. P. D. Patil, Chancellor, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune’s vision and desire to set up one of the best College, Hospital and Research Centre in Maharashtra and across the country. It is the first private College in the State of Maharashtra to receive approval of Medical Council of India (MCI) and Government of India. Moreover, within a short span of time, the intake capacity of students for the MBBS Course has increased from 100 to 150 students in 2003 and from 150 to 250 in 2012. Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune has received recognition from the Medical Council of India (MCI), for awarding MBBS Degree from its very first batch initially to 100, later to 150 and 250 MBBS students. This is the first Medical College in Maharashtra and third private Medical College in India recognized by MCI for 250 seats.
