1. Diagnose and manage respiratory and pulmonary disorders, including asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, and infections.
2. Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and sleep studies.
3. Develop individualized treatment plans including pharmacological therapy, oxygen therapy, and ventilatory support.
4. Manage acute respiratory emergencies and coordinate care with critical care teams when required.
5. Supervise and mentor junior pulmonologists, residents, and respiratory therapy staff.
6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including critical care, cardiology, and infectious disease specialists.
7. Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and preventive care.
8. Participate in clinical audits, research, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
