Consultant Pediatrician

Essential Qualifications

• MD/DNB Paediatrics
• Fellowship/Training in Neonatology (preferred)
• Valid NMC/State Medical Council Registration

Experience

• Minimum 1–5 years of experience in Paediatrics and Neonatology.
• Fresh postgraduates with strong NICU experience may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage OPD and IPD paediatric patients.
• Provide comprehensive care for newborns, including premature and critically ill neonates.
• Independently manage NICU and neonatal emergencies.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal resuscitation.
• Manage paediatric emergencies, vaccinations, growth and developmental assessments.
• Counsel parents regarding newborn and child health.
• Work collaboratively with Obstetrics & Gynaecology, ICU, Emergency, and other departments.
• Ensure proper clinical documentation and adherence to hospital protocols.

Required Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge in General Paediatrics and Neonatology.
• Experience in NICU management, ventilator care, CPAP, and neonatal procedures.
• Proficiency in neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and paediatric emergency management.
• Excellent communication, patient counselling, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Level II/III NICU.
• Ability to perform neonatal procedures such as umbilical catheterization, lumbar puncture, exchange transfusion, and endotracheal intubation.
• Interest in teaching, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
