Description
- Conduct comprehensive pediatric eye examinations for infants, children, and adolescents.
- Diagnose and manage refractive errors, amblyopia (lazy eye), squint (strabismus), congenital eye disorders, and other pediatric ocular diseases.
- Evaluate and manage ocular motility disorders and binocular vision abnormalities.
- Perform orthoptic assessments and interpret pediatric vision screening results.
- Develop individualized treatment plans including spectacles, occlusion therapy, vision therapy, and surgical interventions.
- Perform squint (strabismus) surgeries in children and adults.
- Manage surgical correction of congenital and acquired ocular alignment disorders.
- Provide pre-operative assessment, surgical planning, and post-operative care.
- Counsel parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up requirements.
- Educate families on preventive eye care, visual development, and treatment compliance.
- Manage pediatric ocular emergencies and trauma cases.
- Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation as per NABH standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, departmental meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with optometrists, orthoptists, pediatricians, and other specialists for comprehensive patient care.
- Support community screening programs, pediatric eye camps, and awareness activities.
