Description
- Position: Consultant Ophthalmologist
- Location: The Hope, Kailashahar, Tripura and The Hope eye hospital ,Agartala
Essential Qualifications
- MS/DNB Ophthalmology (or equivalent recognized qualification)
- Valid NMC/State Medical Council Registration
Mandatory Skills
- Must have independent experience in Phacoemulsification (Phaco) Cataract Surgery
- Proficient in
- Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS)
- Comprehensive Ophthalmic OPD
- Diagnosis and management of common eye diseases
- Pre-operative assessment and post-operative care
- Management of cataract complications
- Ability to handle emergency ophthalmic cases
Preferred Skills
- Experience with:
- Premium IOLs (Toric & Multifocal)
- Medical Retina
- Glaucoma management
- YAG Laser
- Green Laser
- Intravitreal Injections
- Good patient counseling and communication skills
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of independent Phaco surgery experience
- Should have performed 500–1,000+ independent Phaco surgeries (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily OPD consultations
- Perform Phaco and SICS cataract surgeries independently
- Manage emergency ophthalmic cases
- Ensure high-quality patient care and documentation
- Participate in outreach camps and community eye screening programs
- Train and support junior doctors and OT staff when required
