Description

  • Perform X-ray imaging procedures on patients as ordered by physicians or healthcare providers, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Position patients correctly and adjust X-ray equipment to obtain high-quality images of specific body parts, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to assess patient conditions and determine appropriate imaging techniques, exposures, and views to capture diagnostic information.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting imaging procedures, patient information, and radiation exposure levels in electronic medical records (EMR) or imaging databases.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot X-ray equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and procedures, including the use of protective lead aprons, shields, and collimators, to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the public.
  • Assist with patient positioning, immobilization, and preparation for imaging procedures, providing clear instructions and reassurance to alleviate patient anxiety and facilitate cooperation.
  • Process and analyze X-ray images using digital imaging software, ensuring image quality, clarity, and diagnostic accuracy for interpretation by radiologists or physicians.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to review imaging findings, discuss patient cases, and facilitate timely reporting and communication of results.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education programs, and professional development activities to stay updated on advances in X-ray technology, imaging techniques, and safety standards.
