Description

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments of patients upon admission to the ward, including health history, vital signs, and physical examination, and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to medication administration protocols and nursing standards of practice.
  • Monitor patients' condition and response to treatment, including vital signs, laboratory values, and clinical indicators, and communicate any changes or concerns to the healthcare team promptly.
  • Provide direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living, wound care, catheterization, IV therapy, and other nursing interventions, ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect for patients' rights and preferences.
  • Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care practices, providing information, support, and resources to promote patient understanding and participation in care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and ancillary staff, to coordinate patient care, facilitate discharge planning, and ensure continuity of care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing assessments, care interventions, patient responses, and other pertinent information in the electronic medical record, ensuring completeness and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and ethical standards of nursing practice, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients, families, and healthcare personnel.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety initiatives, and performance improvement activities within the ward, contributing ideas for process enhancements and best practices.
