Description
- Patient Care and Monitoring: Provide direct care to patients in the ward, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with daily activities like bathing, feeding, and mobility.
- Medical Procedures: Assist in performing basic medical procedures such as wound care, catheterization, intravenous (IV) therapy, and dressing changes, following prescribed treatment plans.
- Patient Admission and Discharge: Assist with the admission and discharge process by taking patient histories, documenting personal information, and providing post-discharge instructions for continued care at home.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with doctors, therapists, and other healthcare staff to ensure coordinated care for patients. Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the medical team.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, health management, and post-discharge care, ensuring they understand instructions for maintaining health after leaving the hospital.
- Infection Control and Sterility: Follow infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe ward environment. Ensure proper handling of medical equipment and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, medication administration, and daily care activities. Ensure clear documentation of patient progress and any changes.
- Emotional Support and Communication: Provide emotional support to patients and families, offering compassion and empathy. Communicate effectively to help alleviate patient concerns and improve their overall experience.
