Description

Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic evaluations, including dilated fundus examinations, optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein angiography, and fundus photography, to diagnose and stage retinal diseases.
Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies to assess retinal anatomy, function, and pathology, guiding treatment decisions and surgical planning.
Perform a variety of vitreo-retinal surgeries, including pars plana vitrectomy, scleral buckling, pneumatic retinopexy, retinal laser photocoagulation, intravitreal injections, and membrane peeling, to repair retinal detachments, treat macular diseases, and manage vitreoretinal disorders.
Manage complications of retinal surgery, including intraoperative hemorrhage, intraocular pressure fluctuations, cataract formation, and postoperative inflammation, employing surgical techniques and adjunctive therapies to optimize surgical outcomes and visual function.
Collaborate with retina specialists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other eye care professionals to provide comprehensive patient care, coordinate treatment plans, and facilitate referrals for complex cases.
Participate in clinical research studies, investigator-initiated trials, and industry-sponsored trials to evaluate novel treatments, surgical techniques, and devices in vitreo-retinal surgery, contributing to advancements in the field.
Provide patient education and counseling on retinal conditions, treatment options, prognosis, and visual rehabilitation strategies, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their eye health.
