Initial assessment and management of every patient coming to triage, deciding under which specialty and consultant the patient will go and communicating the condition of the patient to the consultant. • Management of patients in Triage, HDUs including performing procedures like intubation, central line placement and ventilatory management. • Sr. Resident posted in Triage/HDU is required to provide medical cover for the wards (A1, A3) during night. • Performing bedside procedures when a medical officer is either not available or is unsuccessful in doing so. • Sr. Resident on duty is required to answer the attendants queries and to keep them updated in case of any fresh development in their patient’s condition. • Communicate any deterioration in the patient’s status to the respective consultant and to ensure that the consultant’s orders are carried out appropriately. • Receiving ambulance calls and ensuring timely dispatch of ambulance. • Arranging rooms / beds for patients in triage. • To access all the HDU patients daily and to ensure that they are receiving appropriate Medical Care. • To ensure that patient’s condition is communicated correctly to the relatives and all their queries are answered appropriately.
