Description
- Visits all the surgical patients , assesses the patients condition / makes notes in the medical records and updates the same to the concerned surgeon.
- that OT lists are prepared by computer operator for the following day and sEnsures ent to OT, wards /Director’s office /administrative officer before 6.30.pm every evening.
- Checks and ensure that the preoperative instructions are carried out.
- Assesses the blood requirement and ensures that adequate blood is available for surgical cases, through the patient’s attendants.
- Carries out dressing for the surgical cases in the wards.
- Prepares discharge summaries for all the surgical cases.
- Attends minor surgical cases in casualty and assist the consultant whenever required.
- Perform the duties of resident medical officer when need arises.
- Ensures that the equipments and instruments are in a proper order and functioning in OT.
- Ensures that the surgeries are scheduled in such a manner so that there is no overlapping of surgeries.
- Ensures that anesthetists are booked for surgeries in time.
- Plans and arrangement necessary equipments instruments and staff well in advance for the surgeries posted.
- Constantly interacts with surgeon and anesthetists to get their feed back about the OT staff and facilities provided by the hospital and informs the medical director for action and follow up.
