Description

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established nursing care plans and standards of practice.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical assessments, health histories, and medication reconciliations, to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to medication administration protocols.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and clinical indicators, assessing changes in patient condition and initiating appropriate interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and support staff, to coordinate patient care, facilitate interdisciplinary communication, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide patient and family education on disease management, treatment plans, medication administration, and health promotion strategies, fostering patient empowerment and self-care skills.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) or other designated documentation systems, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in the delivery of patient care, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to hand hygiene practices.
  • Respond to patient emergencies, code situations, and crisis events, implementing appropriate interventions, initiating life-saving measures, and summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, performance improvement projects, and interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient safety, clinical outcomes, and quality of care.
