Staff Nurse - HDU

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE DNC/INC Registration

WALKIN: Mon-Sat (11am to 1pm)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Responsible for the safe, comfortable and comprehensive nursing care for the patients.
• Ensure that the ward is well equipped with required articles to impart quick and safe nursing care.
• Ensure proper admission and discharge of the patients.
• Plan nursing care and do initial nursing assessment of all admitted patients within time period.
• Direct care of the patient as and when required.
• Supervise patients diet.
• See that helpless and vulnerable patients needs are taken care of. Special care & precautions to vulnerable patients.
• Ensure that proper observation records of the patients are made and necessary information is imparted to the concerned authorities.
• Make rounds with doctors. Assist him/her in diagnosis and treatment of the patients.
• Carryout doctors orders and instructions promptly and intelligently.
• Ensure that doctors instructions concerning patient treatment are carried out on time.
• Make sure to take the proper precautions that each medication requires in order to avoid reactions and complications.
• Make double checks before administering Narcotic Drugs. Make sure a second nurse is present while preparing and administering them.
• Observe changes in patients condition take necessary action and report and record.
• Ensure that surgical check lists (Pre-operative) are completed to ensure complete and total care of the patients.
• Co-ordinate patient care with other departments/ areas like pharmacy, medical records, stores, OT & OPD etc.
• Ensure practice of Hospital Infection Control and Waste Management Policies.
• Indent ward store and keep necessary records.
• Check inventory of ward during hand over.
• Prepare a check list to ensure patient care and ward routines are carried out before going of duty.
• Care of dying patients.
• Investigate complaints if any.
• Counseling the patients and relatives.
• Supervise housekeeping staff to ensure a safe and clean environment of the ward at all times.
• Ensure that Nursing Aya and Ward boys are performing their work according to patient satisfaction.
• Intimation to Nursing Incharge / Superintendent of any emergency or unusual occurrence in the ward.
• Participation in education and staff meetings.
• Any other duty assigned by management.
