Description
- Provides general nursing care services within the scope of nursing standards.
- Performs initial assessment and management of patients in accordance with specified protocol and procedure.
- Articulates the primary nursing role to the patient family and health team members.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Co-ordinates involvement of the patient family and health team members in patient care including patient/family teaching and discharge planning.
- Documents relevant patient information.
- Provides assistance to physician during general physical examination and when procedures are being performed.
- Provides care appropriate to age group of patients on assigned unit as described in relevant unity scope of service.
- Will undertake total accountability and his/her assigned patients while on duty.
- Approach medical personnel regarding care for the patients.
- Protect patient from infection and accident.
- Receive and give report on patient’s condition and treatment prescribed by the physician to the nurses in the next shift.
- Establish and maintain a good support with working colleagues.
- Check all equipment’s/instruments/medicine on a daily basis.
- Report to charge nurse of any immediate problems and difficulties.
- Impart care for a dead patient.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Participates and contributes to the educational activities in the service.
- Participates and contributes to all the Quality Improvement activities in the services.
- Adheres to the rules and regulations of the MHT and assures that work performed is in keeping with the established standards of the NABH.
- Performs any other tasks and duties appropriate to his/her realm of knowledge, skills and experience as required by the management.
