Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

• Assess the physical and emotional needs of cancer patients and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer treatments as per physician orders.
• Monitor and manage the side effects of cancer treatments and provide appropriate interventions.
• Assist in pain management and symptom control for cancer patients.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.

Treatment Coordination:

• Collaborate with the oncology team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Administer and manage intravenous therapies, blood products, and medications.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment documentation and vital signs.

Infection Control:

• Strictly adhere to infection control protocols to minimize the risk of infections in immunocompromised cancer patients.
• Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of patient care areas and equipment.

Communication:

• Effectively communicate with patients and their families, providing information on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care and share relevant information.

Professional Development:

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in oncology nursing through continuous education and training.
• Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars related to oncology nursing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree.
• Current state nursing license.
• Certification in oncology nursing (OCN) preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach.
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and emotionally challenging environment.

Experience:

• Previous experience in oncology nursing is preferred but not required. New graduates with a passion for oncology nursing are encouraged to apply.
