Description

Assist in the preparation of operating rooms, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures, ensuring cleanliness, sterility, and availability of necessary resources.
Provide perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery, including assessing patient needs, monitoring vital signs, and addressing immediate concerns.
Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures by passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and providing technical assistance as needed.
Anticipate the needs of surgeons and surgical team members, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes.
Advocate for patients' rights, dignity, and safety throughout the perioperative process, ensuring informed consent, privacy, and respect for cultural and individual preferences.
Communicate with patients and families regarding surgical procedures, postoperative care instructions, and discharge planning.
Provide leadership and direction to perioperative nursing staff, including circulating nurses, scrub nurses, and surgical technologists, ensuring adherence to best practices, policies, and protocols.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff, to facilitate effective teamwork and communication in the OR.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement activities to enhance patient safety, surgical outcomes, and perioperative processes.
Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures, patient assessments, and nursing interventions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
