Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients with gastrointestinal disorders, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and appropriate diagnostic tests.
Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Diagnose a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, such as inflammatory bowel disease, liver diseases, and gastrointestinal cancers, and develop tailored treatment plans.
Endoscopic Procedures: Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography), ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Management of Chronic Conditions: Oversee the ongoing management of chronic gastrointestinal diseases, monitoring treatment efficacy, managing complications, and adjusting care plans as needed.
Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including surgeons, dietitians, and primary care providers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about gastrointestinal disorders, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and preventive health measures to enhance overall well-being.
Research and Clinical Trials: Engage in clinical research and participate in trials to advance the understanding and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, contributing to the development of new therapies and protocols.
Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train junior consultants, residents, and medical students, sharing expertise in gastroenterology to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
