3. Conduct pre-operative evaluations, imaging review, and surgical planning for optimal outcomes.
4. Manage post-operative care including ICU monitoring, wound care, and complication management.
5. Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, and critical care teams for multidisciplinary care.
6. Handle surgical emergencies such as perforations, GI bleeding, and bowel obstructions.
7. Counsel patients and families on surgical options, risks, prognosis, and post-operative care
