Sr. Consultant/Consultant-Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Imaging Procedures:

• Oversee and perform nuclear imaging studies, including positron emission tomography (PET) and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT).
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
• Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols.

Diagnostic Interpretation:

• Interpret nuclear imaging results and provide accurate diagnostic reports.
• Collaborate with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and treatment plans.
• Provide expert advice on the selection of appropriate nuclear medicine studies.

Therapeutic Interventions:

• Administer radiopharmaceuticals for therapeutic purposes, such as targeted radiation therapy for certain medical conditions.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other specialists in the delivery of nuclear medicine therapies.

Patient Consultation:

• Communicate with patients to explain nuclear medicine procedures, address concerns, and obtain necessary medical history.
• Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure instructions to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure compliance with quality control measures in nuclear medicine procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and reliability of imaging studies.
• Monitor and maintain the proficiency of nuclear medicine staff.

Education and Training:

• Provide training to nuclear medicine technologists, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in educational activities, including lectures and workshops.
• Stay updated on advancements in nuclear medicine technology and techniques.
