Description

Explaining sonographic procedures to patients, answering questions, preparing patients by applying the gel to the skin, and positioning the patients on the table.
Ensuring clear images for diagnostic purposes and making adjustments to the sonographic equipment when necessary.
Selecting the appropriate settings and adjusting the patients' positions accordingly.
Monitoring and caring for patients to ensure their safety and comfort during the procedures.
Selecting and examining images, looking for differences between healthy and pathological areas, and determining if the scope of the exam should be extended, based on preliminary findings.
Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process, addressing any concerns, and ensuring they are positioned correctly for optimal imaging.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain ultrasound machines, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly, and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
Image Acquisition: Perform ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and vascular studies, according to established protocols and physician orders.
Patient Safety: Adhere to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients during procedures, including ensuring comfort and minimizing exposure to unnecessary risks.
Image Evaluation: Review ultrasound images for quality and completeness, ensuring that they meet diagnostic standards, and communicate any technical issues to the supervising radiologist.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of ultrasound procedures, patient histories, and findings, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and legal requirements.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and facilitate the interpretation of ultrasound results.
Continuing Education: Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology, imaging techniques, and best practices in patient care.
