Critical Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients recovering from major surgical procedures, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing advanced nursing interventions.
Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions, recognizing signs of complications and changes in health status, and reporting these to the medical team promptly.
Advanced Monitoring: Utilize specialized equipment to monitor patients’ hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and other vital parameters, ensuring timely identification and response to any critical changes.
Emergency Preparedness: Be trained and ready to respond to medical emergencies within the SICU, providing immediate care, performing life-saving measures, and coordinating with the healthcare team as needed.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with surgeons, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and coordinated care.
Patient and Family Support: Educate and support patients and their families regarding postoperative care, recovery processes, and discharge planning, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols, maintaining a sterile environment and implementing preventive measures to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
