Description

  • Provide direct nursing care to neonates admitted to the NICU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing specialized procedures such as neonatal resuscitation, intravenous therapy, and feeding tube placement.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of neonatal patients to monitor their clinical status, identify changes in condition, and detect signs of complications. Monitor vital signs, neurological status, and developmental milestones, and intervene promptly to address any abnormalities.
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for neonatal patients. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, care conferences, and case reviews to discuss patient progress and plan appropriate interventions.
  • Provide education, support, and counseling to parents and family members of neonatal patients. Involve families in the care planning process, communicate effectively about their baby's condition and treatment plan, and encourage parental involvement in caregiving activities and decision-making.
  • Administer medications to neonatal patients as prescribed by physicians, following established medication administration protocols and safety guidelines. Monitor for adverse reactions, side effects, and medication interactions, and collaborate with pharmacists and physicians to ensure safe and effective medication management.
