Description

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage orthopedic conditions in outpatient clinics, emergency departments, and inpatient settings.
  • Perform orthopedic procedures, including casting, splinting, joint injections, reductions, and minor surgeries, under the supervision of attending surgeons.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRI scans, and laboratory tests, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic conditions.
  • Assist attending orthopedic surgeons in the operating room by preparing surgical equipment, positioning patients, and providing surgical assistance during procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, ensure adherence to aseptic techniques, and maintain patient safety throughout surgical interventions.
  • Participate in preoperative planning, intraoperative decision-making, and postoperative care for orthopedic surgical patients.
  • Supervise and mentor junior residents, interns, medical students, and allied healthcare professionals rotating through the orthopedic service.
  • Provide educational opportunities, including didactic sessions, case discussions, and hands-on training, to enhance the clinical skills and knowledge of trainees.
  • Evaluate the performance of junior residents and provide constructive feedback to support their professional development in orthopedic surgery.
