Description
- Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients, including those with life-threatening conditions, using advanced diagnostic tools and monitoring systems.
- Intensive Medical Care: Administer and manage complex treatments, such as ventilator support, dialysis, and continuous medication infusions, to maintain vital functions in critically ill patients.
- Resuscitation and Emergency Care: Provide immediate and life-saving interventions such as advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, intubation, and stabilization.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Continuously monitor patient vitals and clinical status, adjusting treatments and care plans as necessary based on patient responses and test results.
- Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with a team of doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Communication with Families: Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients' families, explaining the condition, treatment options, and prognosis of critically ill patients, often in high-stress situations.
- Medical Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, treatments, and interventions, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and legal requirements.
- Ethical and End-of-Life Care: Address complex ethical issues, including decisions about life-sustaining treatments, palliative care, and end-of-life discussions with patients' families, always maintaining empathy and respect for patient dignity.
