Roles and Responsibilities

• Effective history taking and examination to stratify risk
• Explain the risk to the patient with alternatives
• Order relevant investigations
• Write pre operative anesthesia orders
• Interpretation of hemodynamic data
• Understanding pressure based and invasive hemodynamic parameters
• Insertion of arterial line
• Insertion of central line
• Spinal anesthesia
• Epidural block single shot
• Epidural catheter insertion
• Peripheral nerve blocks
• Evaluation of airway
• Assessment and recognition for need for intervention
• Use of various modalities of airway management
• Plan the anesthesia technique
• Use of muscle relaxants, reversal agents and sedatives
• Understand neuro muscular monitoring
• Assess the patient and evaluate the need for monitoring and drugs to be initiated and airway management
