Description

Actively assist in neurosurgical procedures by handling and providing surgical instruments, ensuring surgeons have the necessary equipment at the right time, and maintaining a sterile environment.
Prepare the operating room with all necessary equipment and supplies before surgery, including sterilization. Ensure the functionality of neurosurgical instruments and equipment, such as microscopes, drills, and monitoring systems.
Have an in-depth knowledge of the wide range of specialized neurosurgical instruments, maintaining their cleanliness and functionality. Quickly identify and supply the correct instrument or material as needed during procedures.
Uphold strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections, including proper scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and handling of sterile materials.
Participate in preoperative and postoperative care, ensuring patient safety, verifying operative consents, and assisting in positioning patients for surgery, considering specific neurosurgical needs.
Work closely with the neurosurgical team, facilitating clear and effective communication before, during, and after surgical procedures. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Accurately document surgical procedures, instrument counts, and other relevant information as per hospital protocol.
Respond effectively to emergencies or unexpected situations in the operating room, assisting in implementing contingency plans or corrective actions as needed.
Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with the latest techniques, technologies, and best practices in neurosurgery. Participate in training sessions and professional development courses.
Assist in managing the inventory of neurosurgical supplies and instruments, ensuring availability and readiness for all scheduled and emergency procedures.
