Description
- Provide medical care to patients admitted to the hospital, including conducting medical assessments, diagnosing illnesses, and developing treatment plans under the guidance of attending physicians.
- Perform medical procedures and interventions, such as venipuncture, wound care, catheterization, and administering medications, following established protocols and standards of care.
- Monitor patients' medical conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment, and escalate concerns or changes in patient status to senior medical staff as appropriate.
- Assist in the coordination of patient care, including scheduling diagnostic tests, consultations with specialists, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, adhering to documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff, to optimize patient outcomes and ensure effective care coordination.
- Participate in medical rounds, case discussions, and educational activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills, and contribute to the professional development of medical trainees and junior staff.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, patient safety guidelines, and hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
