Description
- Their major responsibility is to examine the patients and complete the Initial Assessment of patients in Emergency and wards.
- To take a proper history from the patient or his relative.
- Examine the patient. Check any previous records, if available.
- Inform the respective Registrar concerned or on-call/consultant, about the admission and follow the orders. Always write differential diagnosis, if confirm about diagnosis the write clinical Impression.
- To take rounds and examine individual patients. Inform the respective Consultant/Registrars if any new findings are observed.
- To follow medication orders by the consultants and document the same on the Medication Order sheet/ Medication Chart in Capital letters. Cross check the same for the dosages of the medications.
- To confirm the investigations to be sent and take special precautions for any special investigations.
- To give proper handover to RMO in the next shift about all details of the patient and pending investigations, any referrals etc.
