Description

  • To promptly attend to patients admitted in Wards.
  • To evaluate the medical needs of patients and facilitate all necessary measures for patient to receive appropriate care.
  • To place call to concerned Resident or Consultant on call based on the presenting complaint / condition of the patient.
  • To call for and check previous records if available.
  • To attend patients’ complaints and to calm patient/ relatives if apprehensive.
  • To assist in quick initiation of treatment of patients as per the consultants’ instructions.
  • To ensure the necessary consents before procedures.
  • To assist the Residents / Consultants in Foleys catheterization, rules tube insertion etc.
  • To assist in emergency management events in relation to patients in wards.
  • To indent medicines online as per the Patient’s Prescription.
  • To give pathological, radiological investigations, blood components requisition forms to relatives
  • To complete the Clinical Documentation (accurate & complete) – initial assessment, Registers, Investigation Requisitions, transfer to ward format, other formats applicable to Department.
  • To inform the Patient / relatives regarding Condition of Patient, Likely Hospital Stay and do Financial Counseling.
  • To write down the treatment sheet for the next day in the night duty.
  • To prepare Discharge Summary/ DAMA of the patient for the consultant who do not have physician assistant / residents.
  • To record the patients’ vital parameters in each shift as per protocol.
  • To ensure proper handing over from one shift to other.
  • To announce hospital wide codes as necessary.
  • Performing clinical procedures.
  • Listens actively to patient complaints and resolves it with utmost priority Escalates the matter to the seniors when unable to resolve the matter at individual capacity.
  • Intimating to concerned department in case of negative feedbacks.
  • Triggering the alarm in case the issues have not been sorted by the concerned department or the time being taken to sort out the issues is prolonging.
  • Updating senior management with feedbacks and rectified action taken.
  • Daily reports.
