Description
- Reviewing and interpreting medical images to determine patient status and future medical care.
- Determining the exact images required for diagnosis and delivering orders Administering trace amounts of radioactive substances to create and enhance diagnostic images.
- Performing minimally invasive surgical techniques with image guidance Working with primary care doctors, nurses and radiology technicians to administer treatment and manage pain.
- Interpret and analyze medical images from various imaging modalities, including X-rays, MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine studies.
- Perform and guide interventional radiology procedures, such as biopsies, drainages, catheter placements, and angiographies.
- Consult with patients and explain imaging procedures, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Ensure patient safety during imaging procedures, including the use of radiation protection measures.
- Review imaging protocols and recommend improvements for optimizing image quality and patient care.
- Conduct or participate in continuing education programs, grand rounds, and case discussions.
