Description

Reviewing and interpreting medical images such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine scans to diagnose diseases, injuries, or other medical conditions.
Generating detailed reports summarizing findings from medical image interpretations, including descriptions of any abnormalities detected and recommendations for further diagnostic testing or treatment.
Collaborating with referring physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings, develop treatment plans, and ensure coordinated patient care.
In some cases, radiologists may perform image-guided procedures such as biopsies, drainage procedures, or injections using medical imaging techniques to guide their actions and ensure accuracy.
Ensuring the quality and accuracy of medical images by monitoring and maintaining imaging equipment, following established protocols for image acquisition, and reviewing images for clarity and diagnostic value.
Keeping abreast of advances in medical imaging technology, diagnostic techniques, and treatment modalities through continuing education, professional development activities, and participation in conferences or seminars.
Providing compassionate care to patients undergoing imaging procedures, explaining procedures and expectations, addressing patient concerns, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
