Description

  • Reviewing and interpreting medical images such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine scans to diagnose diseases, injuries, or other medical conditions.
  • Generating detailed reports summarizing findings from medical image interpretations, including descriptions of any abnormalities detected and recommendations for further diagnostic testing or treatment.
  • Collaborating with referring physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings, develop treatment plans, and ensure coordinated patient care.
  • In some cases, radiologists may perform image-guided procedures such as biopsies, drainage procedures, or injections using medical imaging techniques to guide their actions and ensure accuracy.
  • Ensuring the quality and accuracy of medical images by monitoring and maintaining imaging equipment, following established protocols for image acquisition, and reviewing images for clarity and diagnostic value.
  • Keeping abreast of advances in medical imaging technology, diagnostic techniques, and treatment modalities through continuing education, professional development activities, and participation in conferences or seminars.
  • Providing compassionate care to patients undergoing imaging procedures, explaining procedures and expectations, addressing patient concerns, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
