Description
- Radiation Safety Program Implementation: Develop, implement, and oversee the radiation safety program to ensure compliance with national and international radiation safety regulations and guidelines.
- Monitoring and Compliance: Regularly monitor radiation levels, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards, and take corrective actions to address any deviations.
- Training and Education: Provide training and education to staff on radiation safety practices, including the safe handling of radioactive materials and radiation-emitting equipment.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments of all radiological activities, identifying potential hazards and implementing controls to minimize radiation exposure to staff, patients, and the public.
- Radiation Dosimetry Management: Administer and maintain radiation dosimetry records for personnel, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and that exposure levels remain within permissible limits.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate radiation safety incidents or accidents, documenting findings, implementing corrective actions, and reporting incidents to regulatory authorities when required.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all activities involving radiation comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including licensing, inspections, and audits by radiation protection authorities.
- Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Ensure that all radiation-producing equipment is properly maintained, regularly inspected, and calibrated to meet safety and operational standards.
