• Manages cancer patients undergoing radiation treatment.
• Patient selection: Determining if a patient is a good candidate for radiation therapy.
• Treatment planning: Recommending the best radiation therapy strategies based on the cancer type and stage.
• Treatment administration: Ensuring the correct amount of radiation is given and administered properly.
• Patient monitoring: Tracking the patient's progress during treatment.
• Communication: Working with other doctors to coordinate the patient's care.
• Education: Explaining the benefits and side effects of radiation therapy to patients.
• Key Skills: Diagnosis and treatment of cancer, specialize in using radiation therapy to treat cancer and certain noncancerous conditions, assess patients, determine the best treatment plan, and oversee treatment.
