Description
- Quality control chemists are responsible for ensuring that the products we use every day are safe and effective.
- They commonly work in pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing, but they may also be found in other industries where quality control is important (such as food processing).
- Perform chemical and physical analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using various analytical techniques and instrumentation.
- Ensure testing is conducted in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and other analytical instruments.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Record and maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks and analytical records.
- Prepare and review certificates of analysis (COA) for each batch of products.
- Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and other relevant quality standards.
- Collaborate with regulatory affairs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
