Role Summary:

• The Staff Nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring high standards of patient care through comprehensive nursing practices. This includes administering treatments, monitoring patients’ conditions, assisting in therapeutic procedures, and supporting doctors in clinical activities. The role demands empathy, discipline, and a proactive approach to patient safety and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care as per the treatment plan and nursing protocols.
• Administer medications and injections as prescribed by the physician.
• Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and patient progress.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Assist doctors and therapists during assessments, interventions, and emergencies.
• Ensure the timely execution of doctors' instructions and prescribed therapies.
• Maintain hygiene, comfort, and safety for all patients.
• Counsel and support patients with compassion and confidentiality.
• Handle patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Follow infection control and waste management protocols.
• Participate in training programs and team meetings.
• Report any unusual observations or incidents to the Medical Officer immediately.
• Ensure availability and proper use of medical equipment and supplies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: GNM / B.Sc./DGNM Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Registration: Must have an active nursing registration with the State Nursing Council.
• Experience: 0–4 years of clinical experience (psychiatric/de-addiction care preferred).

Skills:

• Good clinical and observational skills
• Effective communication and documentation
• Empathy and emotional intelligence
• Ability to work in shifts and under pressure
• Familiarity with therapeutic protocols in psychiatric or rehabilitation settings (preferred)

Working Conditions:

• Rotational shifts including night duties.
• Work environment includes inpatient care, therapeutic wards, and interaction with psychiatric and recovering patients.
