Description
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments, to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide evidence-based treatment modalities, including psychotherapy and psychopharmacology, to address a wide range of mental health disorders, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and primary care physicians, to ensure integrated and holistic care for patients with complex mental health needs.
- Offer crisis intervention and management for patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises, such as suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, severe agitation, or psychosis, to ensure patient safety and stabilization.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources, promoting empowerment and self-management.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in electronic health record (EHR) systems or other documentation platforms.
- Adhere to ethical principles and legal standards in psychiatric practice, including maintaining patient confidentiality, obtaining informed consent, and complying with duty to warn and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and education through participation in continuing medical education (CME) activities, attending conferences, and staying updated with advances in psychiatry and mental health research.
