Description

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including comprehensive psychiatric history-taking, mental status examinations, and diagnostic assessments, to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, anxiolytics, and stimulants, based on evidence-based guidelines, patient preferences, and treatment response monitoring.
  • Provide psychotherapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, supportive therapy, and other modalities, to address patients' psychological, emotional, and interpersonal issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients' treatment responses, adjust medication regimens, and modify psychotherapeutic approaches as needed to optimize therapeutic outcomes and promote recovery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, primary care providers, and other specialists, to provide integrated and coordinated care for patients with complex psychiatric and medical comorbidities.
  • Conduct psychiatric consultations and provide recommendations for patients admitted to medical or surgical units, emergency departments, and outpatient clinics, collaborating with medical teams to address psychiatric aspects of patients' care.
  • Participate in treatment planning meetings, case conferences, and clinical rounds to discuss patients' progress, treatment goals, and discharge planning, ensuring continuity of care and effective transitions between care settings.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about psychiatric disorders, treatment options, medication adherence, coping strategies, and community resources to support recovery and promote mental health.
