Description
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions based on clinical interviews, medical history, and psychological testing.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patients' specific needs, incorporating evidence-based treatments such as medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions.
- Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, adjusting dosages and treatment regimens as necessary to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects.
- Provide psychotherapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, to address patients' emotional and behavioral concerns.
- Monitor patients' progress and response to treatment, conducting regular follow-up appointments, and making modifications to treatment plans as needed to achieve therapeutic goals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and primary care physicians, to coordinate care and ensure integrated treatment approaches for patients with complex mental health needs.
- Conduct psychiatric consultations and provide crisis intervention services for patients experiencing acute psychiatric emergencies or behavioral disturbances.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, medication management, coping strategies, and community resources to support informed decision-making and self-care.
