Description
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and personality disorders.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients based on diagnostic assessments, clinical observations, and evidence-based treatment guidelines, incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, anxiolytics, mood stabilizers, and stimulants, monitoring patients' response to medication, assessing side effects, and adjusting treatment regimens as needed.
- Provide individualized psychotherapy and counseling services to patients, utilizing various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), and supportive therapy to address psychological symptoms and promote emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other mental health professionals, to coordinate patient care, develop treatment plans, and facilitate continuity of care across different healthcare settings.
- Conduct crisis assessments and provide crisis intervention services to patients experiencing acute psychiatric emergencies, including suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, psychosis, severe mood disturbances, and behavioral crises.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR), maintaining thorough and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
