Description

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, or other physical conditions, including history-taking, physical examinations, and functional evaluations, to determine impairments, limitations, and goals for rehabilitation.
Develop individualized treatment plans and goals for patients based on assessment findings, clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice guidelines, and patient preferences, with a focus on promoting mobility, function, and independence.
Implement therapeutic interventions and modalities to address patients' specific needs and goals, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques (e.g., mobilization, manipulation, soft tissue techniques), electrotherapy modalities (e.g., ultrasound, TENS, electrical stimulation), and hydrotherapy.
Monitor patients' progress and response to treatment, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes and achieve rehabilitation goals, and documenting treatment interventions, progress notes, and patient outcomes accurately and comprehensively.
Provide education and guidance to patients and their families/caregivers on injury prevention, self-management strategies, home exercises, ergonomic principles, and lifestyle modifications to support recovery, prevent re-injury, and promote long-term health and well-being.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, surgeons, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and orthopedic technologists, to coordinate patient care, referrals, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation programs.
Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and interdisciplinary rounds to discuss patient progress, treatment plans, discharge planning, and continuity of care, and contribute to collaborative decision-making and goal setting.
Stay informed about advances in physiotherapy practice, research, and technology, including new treatment techniques, equipment, and evidence-based interventions, through continuous education, professional development, and participation in conferences and seminars.
