Role Overview - The Physician Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting our Home Visit Physicians and Clinic Consultants in delivering comprehensive medical care at patients’ homes and community clinics. The role involves both clinical assistance and digital documentation using telemedicine tools and EMR platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Home Visit Support - Accompany the Home Visit Physician during scheduled patient visits.
- Record and monitor vital signs — BP, pulse, temperature, SpO₂, and blood sugar.
- Assist the physician during examination, procedures, and patient education.
- Generate and maintain Digital Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) using telemedicine tools and mobile applications.
- Support the physician in connecting remote specialists or family members through teleconsultation, when required.
- Perform basic nursing procedures such as dressing, wound care, nebulization, IV/IM injections, and vital monitoring.
- Manage minor emergency procedures under physician supervision.
Clinic / OPD Assistance - Act as Physician Assistant in the OPD during evening sessions at the consultation chamber.
- Record vitals and patient history before consultation.
- Assist the physician in generating and updating EMRs through the clinic app.
- Coordinate patient flow, appointment scheduling, and teleconsultation setup.
Special Skills & Procedures - Perform minor clinical procedures such as suturing of wounds, Ryles Tube insertion, and urinary catheterization under supervision.
- Assist in minor dressings, sample collection, and medication administration.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control standards during all procedures.
Digital & Telemedicine Responsibilities - Use telemedicine applications, remote monitoring tools, and EMR platforms confidently.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into digital health records.
- Support the organization’s goal of a paperless, technology-driven healthcare ecosystem.
- Assist in troubleshooting basic telemedicine equipment and patient app navigation.
Qualifications & Requirements - Education: B.Sc Physician Assistant / Diploma in Physician Assistant / GNM with physician support experience.
Skills: - Competency in basic nursing and emergency procedures.
- Familiarity with telemedicine or digital EMR tools.
- Good communication and bedside manners.
- Ability to handle patients independently with empathy and professionalism.
- Adaptability to work in home-based and clinic-based environments.
Preferred Attributes - Exposure to surgical or emergency departments during training.
- Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new digital tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and compassionate care.
Work Schedule - Morning: Accompany Home Visit Physician for home-based consultations.
- Evening: Assist in OPD/Clinic as Physician Assistant.
- Weekly Off: As per rotation schedule.
