Phlebotomist

Job Description:

• As a Phlebotomist at Medinetix Healthcare Private Limited, you will be responsible for performing venipuncture to collect blood specimens from patients for diagnostic testing. 
• Your role will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and efficient laboratory testing, contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture on patients to draw blood specimens for diagnostic testing.
• Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of collected samples.
• Follow established protocols and safety procedures to minimize risks and ensure sample integrity.
• Provide compassionate and courteous care to patients during the blood collection process.
• Explain the procedure to patients and address any concerns or questions they may have.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Properly label and transport collected blood samples to the laboratory for testing.
• Follow guidelines for specimen processing, storage, and transportation to maintain sample quality.
• Document all procedures and specimen collections accurately and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of phlebotomy equipment and supplies.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and report any issues or malfunctions promptly.:
• Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with data protection laws.

Qualifications:

• Certification or diploma in phlebotomy or medical laboratory technology preferred.
• Prior experience as a phlebotomist or in a related role is advantageous.
• Knowledge of venipuncture techniques, blood collection procedures, and safety protocols.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
