Key Responsibilities

Dispense medicines against valid prescriptions.
Verify right patient, drug, dose, quantity, route, and duration.
Ensure proper labelling, billing, and documentation.
Clarify prescription-related doubts with doctors/in-charge.
Process indents and maintain emergency/crash-cart stock.
Coordinate with nursing staff and OT for medicine availability.
Manage inventory using FIFO/FEFO methods.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
Segregate near-expiry and expired medicines.
Enter all transactions accurately in HMS/software.
Coordinate with billing for proper charge capture.
Handle returns and stock adjustments.
Follow NABH standards and safety protocols.
Maintain proper storage of temperature-sensitive and LASA drugs.
Communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
Escalate issues like stock-outs, errors, or discrepancies.
Maintain required registers (narcotics, Schedule H1, temperature logs).
Ensure all records are updated and audit-ready.
