Description
- Assist pharmacists in accurately dispensing prescription medications to patients, following established protocols and dispensing procedures.
- Prepare and label prescription medications, including oral medications, injectables, and intravenous (IV) solutions, ensuring proper dosage and labeling.
- Prepare compounded medications, such as creams, ointments, and sterile preparations, under the supervision of a pharmacist and according to compounding standards and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized compounding area, adhering to sterile compounding guidelines and safety protocols.
- Receive, verify, and stock incoming medication and supply orders, maintaining adequate inventory levels and storage conditions in the pharmacy.
- Rotate stock, monitor expiration dates, and conduct regular inventory audits to minimize waste and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Enter prescription orders and patient information accurately into the pharmacy computer system, verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations as required.
- Assist patients with prescription drop-off and pick-up, answering questions about medications, dosage instructions, and potential side effects.
