Description

Medication Dispensing: Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients, ensuring correct dosages and instructions for safe use, while verifying prescriptions for legality and appropriateness.
Patient Consultation: Provide counseling and guidance to patients on the proper use of prescribed medications, possible side effects, drug interactions, and storage instructions.
Medication Management: Monitor patients’ medication regimens to ensure they are following prescriptions properly and advise on adherence, identifying potential issues.
Inventory Control: Manage the inventory of pharmaceuticals, ensuring proper stock levels, handling expired medications, and maintaining storage standards for drug safety.
Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that prescribed medications are safe, appropriate, and effective for patients.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that pharmacy operations comply with all legal, regulatory, and institutional requirements, including keeping accurate records of prescriptions, transactions, and controlled substances.
Pharmacovigilance: Monitor for adverse drug reactions and report any issues to appropriate authorities, ensuring patient safety and contributing to ongoing drug safety surveillance.
Patient Safety and Education: Promote the safe use of medications through education campaigns, medication therapy management (MTM), and by providing clear instructions to patients and caregivers.
