Description

Receive and review prescription orders from healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of medication therapy.
Prepare and dispense medications accurately and safely, following established procedures, dosage guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Label prescription containers with appropriate instructions for use, including dosage, administration route, and any special instructions or precautions.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy for individual patients, considering factors such as drug interactions, allergies, and patient preferences.
Conduct medication therapy reviews and assessments to identify potential drug therapy problems, such as adverse drug reactions, therapeutic duplications, and medication non-adherence, and provide recommendations for resolution.
Counsel patients on the safe and effective use of medications, including proper administration techniques, potential side effects, drug interactions, and precautions.
Provide medication education and counseling to patients and caregivers, addressing questions, concerns, and misconceptions about prescribed medications and over-the-counter products.
Offer guidance on medication adherence strategies, including medication schedules, refill reminders, and strategies for managing medication-related challenges.
