Pharmacist

Position Summary: 

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Dr. Aravind's IVF Fertility Hospital in Calicut. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in hospital pharmacy, particularly within an environment that includes an Operation Theater.

Key Responsibilities:

• Medication Management: Responsible for the procurement, storage, dispensing, and management of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies within the hospital premises.
• Medication Dispensing: Accurately prepare and dispense medications according to doctor's prescriptions and ensure proper labeling and patient education regarding medication use.
• Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and maintain records of all pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to prevent shortages or wastage.
• Patient Care: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide pharmaceutical care to patients, including offering information on medication use, potential side effects, and interactions.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including maintaining accurate records and participating in audits as required.
• Operation Theater Support: Specifically, manage and provide pharmaceutical support to the Operation Theater, including preparing medications for surgeries and ensuring sterile conditions.
• Drug Information: Stay updated on the latest pharmaceutical developments, medications, and treatments, and provide information and training to other healthcare staff.
• Patient Safety: Actively contribute to patient safety initiatives and protocols within the hospital.
• Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD from a recognized institution.
• Registered Pharmacist with the relevant state licensing authority.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting, preferably with experience in an Operation Theater environment.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and their proper handling and storage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing pharmacy practices.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Commitment to patient safety and high-quality healthcare delivery.
