Description

Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough preoperative assessments of patients to understand their medical history and condition, collaborating with the surgical team to determine the appropriate perfusion plan.
Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Prepare and maintain cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machines and other perfusion equipment, ensuring they are functioning correctly before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Intraoperative Monitoring: Monitor the patient’s physiological parameters during surgery, including blood pressure, oxygen levels, and blood gas readings, making necessary adjustments to the perfusion settings as needed.
Blood Management: Manage the preparation and administration of blood products and medications during the surgical procedure, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety.
Collaboration with Surgical Team: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, ensuring effective communication regarding patient status and perfusion needs.
Documentation: Accurately document all perfusion-related activities, including machine settings, medications administered, and patient responses during surgery, in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Postoperative Care: Assist in the monitoring and stabilization of patients after surgery, ensuring the transition from cardiopulmonary bypass to normal physiological function.
Continuing Education and Training: Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with advancements in perfusion technology, techniques, and best practices, including participation in workshops and certification programs.
